AWARD PAY RATES INCREASES

In the last of the changes from the Annual Wage Review changes, the final Group 3 Awards will have base rate wage increases from the first full pay period from 1st February 2021.  These affect retail, hospitality, airlines, accommodation & food and The Arts.

To jog memories, the Annual Wage Review concluded the following increases, taking into account all that the last 12 months preceding the decision in late June 2020 brought us:

If you pay at, or near the Award rate and fall into the Group 3 Awards (restaurant, hospitality, retail, airlines, the Arts), then you should re-visit all your pay rates for your employees to ensure you are at or above the minimum base Award rate for each classification.

You cannot contract out of these minimum Award base rates of pay.
